just another Manic Monday...

If yesterday was the day to celebrate Ethan... today is the day to celebrate Stacia... the pictures below are from 2003 so get in the "way back machine" with me...

lots of random people at Stacia's apartment... cast party for Damn Yankees... that's the fabulous Mr. Drake leaning into me... and I'm not sure why I have such a goofy grin on my face but... there you go!

Ethan (from yesterday's post) and Stacia (whose Heavy episode airs tonight!) at the Damn Yankees cast party... Stacia's apartment, 2003and here I am... curly girl... with Courtney, Shawn and Scott behind me... and Joey gnoshing beside me
Have I ever told you why I hate the song, "Manic Monday"?
It was popular around the time that I was newly pregnant with Ryan. I associate that song with morning sickness... and every time I hear it I get nauseous.
This... however... will be a bit of a Manic Monday but, hopefully, in a good way... here are my reasons to love Monday this week:

1. Pain clinic... after two months of undiagnosis, misdiagnosis, suffering and being miserable... I'm finally going to be able to see a doctor who will know how to make me feel better. I'm ready for this to be over... I'll go to the office for staff meeting... work about an hour... drive to Gainesville for my appointment which is supposed to be VEEEERRRRY extensive... they said to plan two hours for the appointment... and then I'll head back to the office. Manic Monday.

2. My friend Stacia's HEAVY episode airs tonight on A&E at 10pm. I met her through Ethan... she was in the show, Damn Yankees, which was at Stagedoor Players. She's incredibly talented and beautiful but has struggled with her weight her whole life. I can't wait to see her progress! At the top of this entry are photos of Stacia, me, Ethan, Robert Drake and there's even Joey... but he's like Where's Waldo and you have to search for him. Good times!

3. Daylight savings time! Once I CAN walk... I can walk after work and it will still be daylight!

4. I was a smart girl and fixed my coffee last night... so Monday Morning Heather is extremely grateful to late evening Heather.

5. I made three salads for lunches this week: caprese (tomatoes, basil, fresh mozzarella drizzled in olive oil) taboule (my bulgur wheat salad with tomatoes, mint, avocado, olive oil & lemon juice) and a three bean salad of sorts (edamame, red kidney beans, black beans, cilantro, onion, bell pepper in red wine vinegar and olive oil)... these are three that I have made many many times and they taste great and are healthy. I look forward to lunch and they completely fill me up. I've had a hard time lately because I haven't felt like doing my prep on the weekends. This weekend I just sucked it up and did it. I bought onion and bell pepper already diced. It's slightly more expensive but it saves me from painful chopping...

6. I have a sinus headache that has lingered since yesterday... but that means that things are in bloom and I'll take the pain that comes with the pleasure of enjoying Spring.

7. You can't watch as many hours of earthquake coverage as I have and not be grateful to be alive, safe and not living in the midst of a natural disaster. My heart is so heavy for people who are homeless, hungry, cold, suffering, trapped, devastated, grieving... earthquake, tsunami, radiation threat... I can't even imagine. And so I'm grateful today for the warmth and security I have.

8. I posted a little status update on facebook asking that God would make me as grateful for Monday morning as I am for Friday afternoon. This week I truly am since there are so many positive steps that I'm taking today. My friend Elaine, who was such a huge spiritual influence on me when I was in my 20's... left this comment and I thought it was such a great admonition that I want to share it: I have always, prayed, Lord you came to give us life and life abundantly, I know you did not just mean weekends and 2 weeks vacation a year. I know You came to do it everyday. Your prayer for Monday sounds like me.

My reason to love Monday is because God came to give us abundant life... every day. This is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it. Have a great Monday y'all!
