some Saturday afternoon pictures and thoughts

pictures taken this week in Cleveland, Georgia... notice the winter light display already set up???

This rainy day picture was taken at our house. This is the view from my front porch. Gorgeous! Even in the rain!

Driving down the road today - blue skies - huge puffy clouds... peaceful mountain views... it's not just lipservice, I love this place and am so grateful to be here. I'm not kidding when I tell you that just driving around here puts me in a state of relaxation... it's an incredible blessing to just be able to enjoy the views.
God needed to remind me of a few things today. Lessons are not always easy, but they are always necessary. I'm learning.
A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. Proverbs 31:10-12
When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time. I keep trying to clean up the past so that it is not such a bitter pill to swallow. I need to remember that it ain't so purdy.

But if the unbeliever leaves, let him do so. A believing man or woman is not bound in such circumstances. God has called us to live in peace. 1 Corinthians 7:15

My son Ryan turned 22 yesterday! I didn't forget his birthday... I called him... it's weird to have a grown child. Not that he wasn't grown at 21... but at 22 I had two kids and a house! He's doing so much better... I'm really proud of him. He's going to start blogging about his travels, if he'll let me, I'll share the link. He's a great writer. But he's still "BooBoo" to me! (he's actually listed in my phone that way!)

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge but fools despise wisdom and discipline. Proverbs 1:7

Austin's bible open on his bed... I loved this shot! There are much worse things a mom could find in her teenager's bedroom!

When words are many, sin is not absent but he who holds his tongue is wise. Proverbs 10:19 (this is a repeat from the other day but a lesson I am struggling to learn!)

It's cold here... the wind is gusting. We'll be in the twenties for the next few nights. I have missed the changing seasons so I'm looking forward to enjoying my warm woolies. I have a fabulous pea coat that I really love... I can't wait to wear it.

Austin and I had lunch in Helen today. Helen is a tourist town... it's where our church is... it's in a quaint, Bavarian style... we went through a few shops but for the most part, we've seen them all before. I did get some praline pecans at the fudge shop... but other than that... we just people watched and enjoyed the cool air.
I keep thinking about Beth at Nutwood Junction and her "Fish=Death" post. That cracked me up! That may qualify as the funniest time of my day... what a lame day for me, right?

Florida is beating the tar out of South Carolina. I do love Florida football! Tim Tebow needs to win the Heismann again!

My boss went to the Georgia Tech basketball game last night and took his nine year old daughter. They reportedly had a great time. His wife stopped by this morning while I was working.

The kids at church had "weird hair night" on Wednesday night. This is Sarabeth right after dinner and before her class. Her hair wasn't THAT weird.

Jamie was not excited about having her picture taken. She was having cuddle time with mommy. I fixed her hair in three ponytails. Angie is looking awesome. She is ten pounds away from her Weight Watchers goal weight!
Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. Deuteronomy 6:5
Love is patient.
Love is kind.
It does not envy,
it does not boast,
it is not proud.
It is not rude,
it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects,
always trusts,
always hopes,
always perseveres.
Love never FAILS.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Thanks for sharing the pictures of the blue sky and sunshine. It's cold windy and wet here. Snow is supposed to be coming our way. A little sunshine sure would be good about now. 'On Ya'-ma

Heather,
Hey girl!! Your pictures made me realize that I need to STOP...enjoy the fall. I have been so crazy busy with the kids lately that I realized tonight that I have not enjoyed the fall as I should. I love this time of the year when all the different colors are out. Thank you for sharing and I love your scenery! It really makes me want to be there!! :)

Your pictures are so pretty Heather...it made me realize how much of the country I have never really seen. I grateful that you have such a beautiful and peace filled place to live while you are finding your way again.
Happy belated to Ryan :)

I was going to ask you if you were into SEC football. I had the game on, and did Florida rub it in or what? But saying that they deserve to make the title game is still a bit much ... let them beat FSU and 'bama, then there won't be any talking to be done.

I liked your proverb about a wife of noble character. Yes, I know I cherry pick ... but I also listen to the hard lessons as well.

Nice pictures. Have a super cool day!

Great pictures, Heather! Such a beautiful place. I was delighted to see you mention the fudge shop in Helen. Whenever we went there, I always had to stop and get some of their fudge! Yummmm!

Glad that FISH = Death made you chuckle. Disaster was averted last night, and I'll post about our evening later.

Hugs, Beth
