feeling funky friday

I started my day realllllllly sick. Living in the bathroom sick. Grateful that my (dirty) bathroom floor is cool sick. Crampy stomach sick. It was what my daddy would call "the green apple trots".

I'm feeling better now. I thought initially it was a virus but then I noticed my milk is out of date. Wonder if that did it. Who knows?

It passed... I'm feeling dehydrated and exhausted but... I'm not living in the bathroom.

Nope... I'm passing my day watching the Casey Anthony trial. It aggravates me to no end but it also fascinates me. Her attorney is a jerk. She's insane. Her parents are pitiful... my heart aches for them.

In the middle of my misery this morning... right before 7am... my grandmother called. She doesn't call often and nobody calls early but... truth be told, if you're going to get me to answer the phone, that's the time of day to do it. She wanted to make sure she told me our theatre tickets are for tomorrow, not today. She did. She asked how I was feeling. I told her "fine". Didn't want to worry her.

I'm very much looking forward to going to see a show with her tomorrow. My Steel Magnolia... 87 and a half years old and still going strong. We're going to have dinner together and then see Dearly Departed. It's a really funny play. There's a movie version out, you should see it. Purple Michael did this play years ago and was huh-larious in it... this will be done by the decidedly aged theatre group near my grandma's home in Hayesville, North Carolina. It's going to be interesting.

I imagine the drive "over the mountain" - it's a little over an hour - and sitting thru dinner and a play - and the drive back "over the mountain" - will take a toll on my back but it's worth it. We're invited to spend the night but... I like my own bed. I'm such a homebody.

Austin texted me and said his lunch account was empty and they wouldn't let him charge since there's only one more week of school. I gave him ten dollars on Wednesday. Either he didn't use the money appropriately or he overindulged the past two days. I feel bad for him but... he's on reduced lunch... because of our household income he pays a smaller fee for lunch, I believe it's something like fifty cents. Something isn't adding up here. So... next time he'll spend more wisely, right?

We had a horribly scary storm yesterday. I was unusually frightened... and the satellite was out so we couldn't get the storm warnings. I think I need a weather radio. Actually, I've thought about getting a police scanner.

I'd also like to get a photo scanner to store all my thousands of photographs digitally, then I can give each of the kids a set.

Just random thoughts. I'm not buying anything right now. I'm just concentrating on finishing paying off my car, paying down some medical debt and not bouncing checks. That's enough for now.

Anyways... that's what's happening around here today. Hope you have a wonderful long weekend. Love and hugs...
