Whiny Wednesday Retail Therapy

Since yesterday's blog was all words and no pictures, why don't I make today all pictures and no words? That would be IMPOSSIBLE for me!

First, a confession: I cancelled my dentist appointment this morning. I just couldn't. The struggle is real, y'all. Today was just x-rays and re-evaluation of the dental rehab plan and I. Just. Couldn't. I just could not face that reality today.

So I did what any reasonable adult would do.... I went to Wal-Mart where I bought jelly beans, caramels, gelato, macarons... basically everything I could think of to ruin my teeth. Might as well make the dentist earn his money. Whenever I finally make it back there.

Going to the eye doctor yesterday was enough of a reality check for me. It's enough that I need bi-focals. The mirrors where I tried on frames for my new glasses under the harsh, bright lights really brought out the "silver highlights" in my hair. Every day I deal with having the spine of an 80 year old, with hips that are not far behind. My shoulders and hands ache every time I try to do anything I enjoy like... sewing... or coloring with Sharpies... or playing games on my phone.

I'm not just adulting, I'm SENIOR adulting. And I don't even get the benefit of a senior citizen discount yet. I don't mind being my age. I just wish I felt my age and not twice my age.

Whiny Wednesday, y'all. It's a real thing.

Retail therapy helped a lot. I bought a cute onesie for Cosette, some cosy pj pants for me, new sharpies, a pink jack-o-lantern for Cosy and a blue jack-o-lantern for Oliver, another black board for the next birthdays in the family because... making birthday boards just makes me happy. I bought some new mascara that I hope will stay put. Every time I try to wear makeup my mascara just melts. I bought new hair elastics for my ever present sumo-wrestler bun. I bought more of these...
apple things because Cosette loves them (and I do too!) they're just apples. Dried apples. No preservatives or sugar or anything. They are not cheap but... they have two whole apples in every serving so... I feel like it's worth it. I ordered a whole case of them for her on Amazon Prime but I chose the "slow delivery" with Amazon because you get a discount/rebate when you do. So essentially I saved 25% for being willing to wait for a week instead of getting them delivered in two days. AND... then.... I went to Wal-Mart and bought a box to tide us over until they're delivered. My life sometimes defies logic.

I was exhausted when I got home but it was good to get out for a bit.

I packed Cosette's diaper bag for tomorrow. Austin has been wanting to buy a manly diaper bag but I remembered I have a really nice backpack that will work just fine. Tasha's been bringing us a bag every week but I thought... we can do this. We are capable of putting together a diaper bag! And then I checked with Tasha to make sure I had everything I needed in it.

My mom went and knocked down the spider webs and took the leaf blower to my screened porch because Cosette likes to play there. (it had only been since Saturday but those spiders work fast!) She put together the alphabet mat and set out some new bins of toys that she found in the attic.

We are obviously ready for baby girl to come tomorrow! Her mom says that she has been trying to take her diaper off all day. I think she'll be potty trained before two because she just hates wearing a diaper. I looked at potty chairs at Wal-Mart but decided to wait until she's better at going with mom before we work on it here. I also thought it might be better to have the same type of potty here that she has at home.

Anyways. I guess that's enough whining for today. I'll be back tomorrow with pictures from Cosy Day!

Thanks for stopping by! Love and hugs!
