The windows are open here again. It's 70 degrees and raining. It seemed a shame to waste it. Usually by the second week of June it's too hot and steamy to do anything except run the a/c full blast. I'm grateful for the cool.
Since pajama Saturday rolled into pajama Sunday, I got up early this morning and showered, put on makeup, put a little extra conditioner on my hair so I could go curly and put on a cute little dress. The cats appreciated my efforts.
I cleaned out the refrigerator, emptied the dishwasher and made a trip to the grocery store. I'm soooo gonna miss the friendly folks at Ingles! I'm one of those weirdos who talks to everyone and this is the only place I've lived where people actually appreciate that friendliness.
Austin is still away. I'm semi-frustrated that he's not here helping me pack, move boxes, clean, etc but, ultimately, if he's not in the mood to cooperate, he's just a big ole millstone around my neck. I made a little more progress yesterday and swept way more than I should. I feel it today. Hopefully Austin will come home ready to cooperate since he's had some time to himself over the past few days.
I've decided that I appreciate hazelnut flavored coffee from Starbucks more than I enjoy a hazelnut latte and it's cheaper.
I loved watching the Tony's so much last night that I actually clapped my hands with glee! Then I remembered I have a neighbor for the first time since last September and hoped she didn't think I'm a whackadoodle.
My tentative plans are to make the big move on the 23rd - 24th. My intentions are to get everything small enough for me and Austin to carry in the car tucked away in the storage unit before that weekend. Then on the 23rd we would just be moving the big stuff to storage and/or down to the parents' over that weekend. I'm not really able to do the kind of deep cleaning necessary to return this unit back like it was when we moved in so I'm looking to have to pay someone to do that, as long as I can afford to.
I guess at this point, I'll do the best I can with the resources available to me. That's all I can do. And there's still the matter of getting my new room in shape and organized where it's nestable.
I bought much healthier groceries this time around... was craving my broiled tomatoes and tilapia over wilted spinach. I think that's what I'll have for lunch. It's tricky shopping for short term only. You know how you sort of keep a standard inventory in your house and buy those standards whenever your stockpile is low? That's how most of us can survive off the bounty of the pantry and not have to go to the market every day. Except... I'm trying to whittle down the stockpile. Yesterday I made brown rice with miso soup and edamame in the rice cooker. It wasn't good. Blech. I had one of those frozen chicken alfredo dinners for dinner... it tasted freezer-ish. I threw it out and stuck three little red potatoes in the microwave and made baked mini-potatoes. Also, not very good. The piece of poundcake and drumstick ice cream cone that I settled for instead were yummy but not nutritious. I've got a lot of stuff to do, need to get my strength built up.
I'm afraid to admit it out loud but I think the pneumo bronchial black lung of death has left our house. I think. I've still got the random occasional need to clear my throat but the constant, relentless, horrible hacking cough has left. The last time I said this, it came right back that next day but maybe this time it's really gone.
Hoping to get some feedback from the two potential employers soon.
And... that's about it for my reasons to love Monday this week... hope you've found a few for yourself! *hugs*
