today's the big day!

I'm already teary. Maybe I'll get it out of my system early.

Yesterday was a loooong day but it was a good day. Lots of running around... lots of "hurry up and wait". But lots of time with my boys.

At one point I just watched the three of them together and thought... "they are all mine". Three amazing beings... that are part of me.

The wedding is outdoors at a civil war battlefield park. A gazebo overlooks a beautiful rolling field. Margaret Mitchell describes Clayton County in Gone With The Wind as having "gentle rolling hills"... you can really see them in this park since there is so much open land.

Driving down to the southside of town and back yesterday with a lot of activity in between was tiring. Sleeping in my own bed last night was priceless. I made good time both ways, no traffic, which was a blessing. I drove home with the windows down, singing at the top of my lungs.

I went to Jim and Angie's last night for dinner. Bryan and Candice were there. They had grilled burgers and saved me a plate. Finishing that long day with two of my brothers and my two sisters-in-law gathered around the kitchen table laughing, talking, loving on my nieces... could not have been more perfect.

The girls' dresses fit perfectly. I made the flower girl baskets yesterday. I worked on lots of elaborate decorations for them and then decided to go with something very simple.

The ceremony will be very short. Just vows. No songs, pomp or circumstance. The reception will be very elaborate. This is good as it will be HOT outside. The wedding is at 3. The ceremony is outdoors, the reception is indoors.

I'm going to leave here in the next hour or so, I think. Just taking a few minutes to gather my wits about me then glam and go... want to try to keep things as calm as possible. I only have a few details to worry with today but want to make sure I'm close by just in case I'm needed.

Will post details and lots of pictures tomorrow! Keep us in your prayers!
