Freezer stocked with frozen mangos, peaches, bananas, watermelon… (all seedless stuff – strawberries can get stuck in little crevices)….
Yogurt, skim milk, Carnation instant breakfast ready to mix in with the fruit for smoothies…
Beans in the crockpot getting cooked up to make refried beans…
Potatoes ready to be boiled and mashed…
Money available to pay my co-pay…
Other bills paid…
My desk at work almost, sorta, just about cleared off…
Laundry caught up. Well, washed and dried, anyways.
The living room is supposed to be clean. We’ll see.
I think I’m ready.
I’ve scheduled an appointment for this afternoon with my general practitioner because I have a lot of chest congestion and I want to make sure it will be safe to go under. Also want to make sure I’m not mixing pneumonia with the whole tooth removal process… don’t want any more infection floating around in my body than has to. I don’t think it’s pneumonia but I definitely have a pretty nasty cough.
We’ll go to church tonight. I told Austin that Tasha could come with him. He’s wanting her to be able to see how we do our Wednesday night youth service. When she came with us before we had a special missions presentation.
I closed another car loan today… it’s so rare to do two car loans within the space of a month. Most agents don’t do two car loans in a YEAR! And seriously… with the credit crisis in this country, nobody is loaning money. Statistically only about 30 percent of loans are approved… but I’m two for two in the past two weeks. It’s so very God for me to be able to do these big bonus producers right at the time that I really needed the money. That made me feel uh-lot better about things.
My co-workers gave me a little gift bag with magazines, coloring books, crayons, logic puzzles... it was so sweet. It feels like today - this week - is just flying by - like a runaway freight train headed downhill.
Then on lunch – again, I just had a very few minutes for lunch today as I am leaving early to go to the doctor and had to run a quick errand. I had about five minutes to do bible study. So again, I asked God to give me a passage to read today. It's below... didn't have time to make it all nice and neat. Just check it out... in the light of what I hinted at yesterday... it's pretty amazing how God brought me right there. Literally... "Psalm 94" popped into my head.
Psalm 94
1 O LORD, the God who avenges, O God who avenges, shine forth.
2 Rise up, O Judge of the earth; pay back to the proud what they deserve.
3 How long will the wicked, O LORD, how long will the wicked be jubilant?
4 They pour out arrogant words; all the evildoers are full of boasting.
5 They crush your people, O LORD; they oppress your inheritance.
6 They slay the widow and the alien; they murder the fatherless.
7 They say, "The LORD does not see; the God of Jacob pays no heed."
8 Take heed, you senseless ones among the people; you fools, when will you become wise?
9 Does he who implanted the ear not hear? Does he who formed the eye not see?
10 Does he who disciplines nations not punish? Does he who teaches man lack knowledge?
11 The LORD knows the thoughts of man; he knows that they are futile.
12 Blessed is the man you discipline, O LORD, the man you teach from your law;
13 you grant him relief from days of trouble, till a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 For the LORD will not reject his people; he will never forsake his inheritance.
15 Judgment will again be founded on righteousness, and all the upright in heart will follow it.
16 Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will take a stand for me against evildoers?
17 Unless the LORD had given me help, I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.
18 When I said, "My foot is slipping," your love, O LORD, supported me.
19 When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.
20 Can a corrupt throne be allied with you— one that brings on misery by its decrees?
21 They band together against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death.
22 But the LORD has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge.
23 He will repay them for their sins and destroy them for their wickedness; the LORD our God will destroy them.
