Yes, I am alone on a Friday night and I'm very excited! Austin is truly no trouble... he is actually very sweet to me... but I haven't been alone in a long time.
1. I'm thankful for quiet nights alone
I'm posting some more of the pictures of Jamie from last night because - in my opinion - she's just too cute for words!
2. I'm thankful for my Jamie doll...
Today was a long and stressful day at work... but I made it! I'm off two days, work two days, am off two days, work one day and then am off two days... lots of R&R in my future!
3. I'm thankful for work and I'm thankful for paid holidays!
Last week my doctor gave me a referral to an ear nose and throat specialist. It should not have been possible for me to get an ear infection (which... I haven't mentioned... has now invaded the other ear and that one is hurting just like the first one did!) while I was on super mega antibiodics... which means there could be a bigger problem... I was a little worried about seeing the specialist because they couldn't get me scheduled until after the first of the year... the problem with that is that my deductible starts over on January 1st... and my deductible is over a thousand dollars... which means that I would have to pay for the entire specialist visit out of pocket... which means that I would probably just not be able to go... back to the world of no medical care because I can't afford it. I asked that they call me if there are any cancellations... and today they called! I have an appointment for Monday! This is also good because - as I mentioned - the other ear is now hurting which means that I would have ended up at the doctors office on Monday anyways... and this way I get to see a specialist... but it doesn't cost me anything out of pocket!
4. I'm thankful for health insurance, deductibles that are met, doctors who have cancellations... and I'm thankful that just maybe this doctor can get to the bottom of why I'm getting sick and staying sick...
It's been 13 weeks today... I'm thankful to be alive.

I hope your ears feel better Heather.
Emily started complaining last night about BOTH her ears hurting and her throat hurting, then Kaitlynn piped in that her throat and one of her ears hurt.
I kept them out of school today hoping to get them in for an appointment. Usually I CAN, but today, they were double booked and under staffed. SOoooo here I sit with two babies...one with REALLY bad pains AND a fever.
I think Kaitlynn has sympathy pains more than anything because she is acting just fine. Emily, however is in major pain and being that I know that pain, I feel so bad for her. I hope to get her in tomorrow to see the doctor. In the meantime, I have these OTC herbal "pain" drops for her.
I have the aches and pains like I am trying to get the flu again..but I had the damn flu shot!!! I don't need this shit. I hope it's NOT the flu because I can't be sick. Damn.
Okay...now that I just had diarrhea of the mouth... LOL. I hope your ears get better. :)
your poor ears! poor YOU! I am so glad to hear about the appt on Monday. I hope they get to the bottom of all this sickness you are having.
enjoy your weekend. I am off too and childless so I am making the most of it.
hugs
tina
Where is Austin? He's not in the fridge again, is he???
Sorry to hear about both your ears hurting now, but so glad you were able to get an appt with the ENT on Monday. That's great you were able to get an appt so quickly. Back when Doug was so sick for so long, that was really frustrating . . . having to get different referrals for different specialists and waiting 3-4 months at a time for each appointment.
Natalie is finally feeling better. I kept her home yesterday (she missed all week) and it was the first day in an entire week that she had not run a fever. She's still so weak, though. I'll have to be careful to not let her overdo it . . .
Have a great Austin-free weekend . . .
Ly,
Mary
I am so glad that you were able to get in! Let us know what is going on.
Kelli
